Open a demat account

An IPO application needs a demat account and a UPI ID that can approve a mandate. The bid itself is placed in your broker's IPO window, or through the exchange. IPO Radar does not take applications. The links below go to the broker's own site, with no affiliate code attached.
  • Zerodha

Discount broker. IPO bids are placed in their console and paid by a UPI mandate.

People who already keep a Zerodha demat and want the bid next to the rest of the account.

    Go to Zerodha
  • Groww

App-first broker. Most of their users apply for an IPO from the same app they use for stocks.

A first demat, if you want the application flow inside one app.

    Go to Groww
  • Angel One

Full-service app with an IPO bidding section and a research tab beside it.

Applicants who want a broker desk they can call, not only an app.

    Go to Angel One
  • Upstox

Discount broker with its own IPO window.

A second account when the first broker is not offering a particular SME issue.

    Go to Upstox

How the money actually moves

  1. You bid for a number of lots inside the price band.
  2. The amount at the top of the band is blocked in your bank through UPI. It is not paid to the company yet.
  3. If you are allotted, that many shares are debited and credited to the demat. The rest of the block is released.
  4. If a broker is not offering a particular SME issue, the bid will simply be missing. Try another broker, or the exchange, rather than a person offering to “apply for you” against a GMP screenshot.

Brokerage and account charges change. Read them on the broker's site before you open anything. When an affiliate arrangement exists, this page will say so in the same paragraph as the link.
